Tech@ EPR has a ported, rebuilt oil pump listed for sale in classifieds, and he recently posted that he always rebuilds his customers old pumps. Meanwhile, it seems that Kyle and most of the other engine builders use new oil pumps in long blocks. I havent found any kits to rebuild the old pumps, and not much in the archives on this. Is the concensus to buy a new pump, or is it OK to reuse/ rebuild the old one, and what parts are needed/ available? Are there tolerances that should be measured? Maybe Tech@ EPR could post on how to go about this?
